Professional Experience
Dr. Francisco Castro joined the firm in 2009. His practice concentrates on patent prosecution and counseling, advising clients in the fields of telecommunications, imaging, photonics, semiconductors, and nanotechnology.
Dr. Castro brings significant industrial experience to the preparation and prosecution of patent applications on behalf of clients. As a Principal Staff Research Engineer at Motorola, he developed novel solid-state image sensor architectures and advanced imaging systems. As a Member of the Technical Staff at Lucent Technologies, he designed and tested systems for high-speed optical switching.
Dr. Castro’s graduate work included research on quantum structures for photonic applications, semiconductor device modeling, and non-linear optical devices. He is author or co-author of more than 30 technical papers and is a named inventor in four US-issued patents. He is also an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
