Professional Experience
Guy joined McAndrews, Held & Malloy as a law clerk in 2009 and as a full time associate in 2010. During his time with the firm, Guy has gained experience in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation covering a variety of technological and business areas.
While attending law school, Guy received awards for top academic performance in Trademark and Copyright Law, Professional Responsibility, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. In addition, Guy excelled in IP related courses including Patent and Trade Secret Law and Intellectual Property Litigation, as well as practice-oriented courses relating to patent litigation, prosecution and trial advocacy. Guy also served as Articles Editor for the Review of Intellectual Property Law and participated in the Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition. He received the Herzog Academic Scholarship and was elected into the Order of John Marshall.
Prior to law school, Guy worked as a Project Engineer for Electro-Motive Diesel, a locomotive manufacturer. While with Electro-Motive, Guy designed control software for the cooling system, display system and traction motors. He worked closely with system designers and customers in order to test locomotives in Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United States. This experience exposed Guy to the challenges of bringing new products to market, as well as the intellectual property concerns of a worldwide manufacturer.
As an undergraduate studying electrical engineering at Purdue University, Guy completed extensive coursework in areas such as microprocessor systems, digital signal processing, semiconductor devices, electro-mechanical motion, circuit analysis and programming. Guy also gained valuable laboratory and design experience in digital systems and filter design.
