Professional Experience
John L. Abramic specializes in intellectual property litigation.  He has acted as lead counsel and co-lead counsel in several patent infringement lawsuits, and has represented clients at numerous trials in federal district courts and at the Federal Circuit.  He has also represented clients in federal antitrust lawsuits and trade secret lawsuits in both federal and state courts.  Though he has substantial experience with medical device and pharmaceutical litigation, including Hatch-Waxman litigation, his litigation work has also involved a wide range of other technology areas, including healthcare products, laboratory equipment, petrochemical processes, polymer production, networked electronics, automotive equipment, construction machinery, and sporting goods.  

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he graduated with honors and was a member of the Illinois Tech baseball team.  Following graduation, he worked as a technical sales consultant providing fluid processing equipment to a variety of industries.  John received his law degree from Chicago-Kent where he graduated second in his class, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and was also a member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review.  John is an active member of the pro bono program of the Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar and also serves as pro bono counsel for the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, through which he represents clients eligible for relief under the Violence Against Women Act.
