Professional Experience
Joe's practice involves assisting clients in a wide variety of intellectual property matters including prosecution of patents before the Patent & Trademark Office (prosecuting numerous patent applications through issuance), noninfringement/invalidity opinions, patent interferences, product clearances, evaluation of patented technology in business contexts (for example, IP due diligence investigations in relation to mergers & acquisitions), and enforcement of intellectual property through licensing and litigation.    

Joe has worked with various technologies in the fields of mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering, including medical devices (for example, surgical navigation systems and diagnostic imaging systems, such as x-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound), electrical connectors and mechanical fasteners for use in a wide range of equipment (ranging from computers to automobiles), broadband communications chips and related systems, compressed gas storage and delivery systems, olefin polymerization systems, in-ear speakerphones and hearing aids, electronic dart game machines, and computer jukeboxes.
