Professional Experience
Jim Davis specializes in patent and trademark litigation, and patent prosecution.  He joined the firm in 2007 and has worked with a range of technologies, including automobile electronics, cell phones, gaming consoles, medical devices, and medical records systems.

After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2005, Jim clerked for the Honorable Donald J. Stohr in the Eastern District of Missouri for two years.  The clerkship afforded Jim invaluable perspective in litigation, exposure to a wide variety of civil and criminal matters, and significant experience drafting judicial opinions.

During law school, Jim served as a Notes Editor for the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy, in addition to competing on the school’s trial team.  He received high honors in Legal Research and Writing and Oral Advocacy, as well as the Rickert Awards for Excellence in Legal Publications and Trial Advocacy.  In the summer of 2003, Jim advanced his education and experience by studying international and comparative intellectual property law at Oxford University.

As an undergraduate student, Jim gained experience in electrical and computer engineering, and computer science.  His coursework included fabricating integrated circuits, designing and simulating a microprocessor, and programming artificial intelligence algorithms.  As a result of his work, Jim was inducted into multiple engineering honor societies.
