Professional Experience John Held, a founding partner, counsels and works with the clients concerning the scope and protection of their patent, trademark, and copyright rights and the enforcement and licensing of their Intellectual Property rights. John has counseled clients in numerous patent, trademark and copyright infringement actions (jury trials, bench trials and mediations) and in Patent and Trademark Office patent appeals, patent interferences, and trademark oppositions/cancellation proceedings. His other Intellectual Property counseling, procurement and enforcement activities have focused on products in a wide spectrum of industries, including automotive parts and equipment, web handling and processing equipment, software products, refuse handling equipment, electronic receptacles and fittings, computer jukeboxes and games, sporting goods, and consumer products. In addition, John has been and is involved with a variety of activities in the Chicagoland community – Glencoe Human Relations Committee (Chair) and Eire Neighborhood Settlement House (Board); in his church as Chair of its Board of Deacons and its Board of Trustees; in bar associations – Chicago Intellectual Property Law Association (Secretary, Treasurer) and Chicago Bar Association (Chair, Young Lawyer Section); and his alma mater as a member of the Board of Regents of Georgetown University (Chair, Law Affairs Committee) and the Georgetown Law Center as a member of the Law Campaign Committee (Vice Chair, Chicago) Law Campaign recipient, Paul R.
