Professional Experience
Kevin E. Borg joined the firm as a registered patent agent in 2002.  The primary focus of his practice is patent prosecution in the electrical and software areas, including computer-based as well as embedded controller software.  With over 20 years of engineering experience in research and development, Kevin is particularly skilled at identifying alternative solutions and tradeoffs in the design of electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems.

Kevin has worked in the United States and abroad for AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and the consulting firm which he founded, Trilogy Solutions. Throughout his engineering career, Kevin held numerous positions in a variety of technical disciplines including electrical design, software development, systems engineering, project management, testing, customer technical support, and quality management.  While living in Singapore, Kevin provided technical leadership and support for smart card introduction into the Asian region, working directly with government bodies in Singapore and China.  In recognition of his technical breadth, depth, and accomplishments, Kevin was appointed to Distinguished Member of Technical Staff while at Bell Laboratories.

Kevin’s experience spans a number of diverse technologies, including geo-location, voice and data communications equipment, smart cards, cellular and PCS wireless systems, advanced residential communications systems, electromagnetic actuators, and microprocessor-based design.  His focus has typically been in leading edge technologies and their use in commercial applications.  Kevin personally holds two patents.
