Professional Experience
Katie joined McAndrews, Held & Malloy as a law clerk in 2006 and as a full time associate in 2008. Katie has gained experience in a variety of technological areas and all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent litigation, patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, licensing, product clearance, and client counseling.
Prior to law school, Katie worked in a neurobiology laboratory at Northwestern University. There, she performed various studies related to the co-localization of neuronal proteins, and other neuroscience experiments related to reproduction in small animal models.
Katie graduated cum laude from DePaul University College of Law. During law school, Katie served on the Editorial Board for the DePaul Law Review. She also gained practical experience while advising pro bono clients regarding IP matters for the Technology/Intellectual Property Clinic.
As an undergraduate studying bioengineering at the University of Illinois, Katie gained laboratory experience and familiarity with a number of biological and chemical technologies. In addition, as a research assistant for the University she studied synthetic polymer compounds for biological applications such as synthetic cartilage.
