Professional Experience
Prior to joining the firm Ronald was a Member of Technical Staff at Lucent Technologies, where he worked for 11 years. During his last 8 years at Lucent, Ron worked in the field of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology. As a software developer he wrote core software for the first ATM switch introduced commercially by Lucent. He subsequently became a Network Architect involved in developing next generation network architectures that supported the integration of Telephony networks with IP and ATM networks. Ron was also active in standards bodies that were engaged in establishing industry standards for the convergence of voice and data networks.
Prior to Lucent Technologies, Ron worked in product marketing, at Intel, AMD, and NCR, where he was responsible for business planning and new product introductions. His credits include introduction of the first commercially available massively parallel processing integrated circuit.
Ron is author of a book on ATM networks, and has taught a graduate level course at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He has written articles that appeared in industry publications, and holds two patents.
