Professional Experience Ryan joined McAndrews, Held & Malloy as a law clerk in 2007 and as a full time associate in 2009. During his time with the firm, Ryan has gained experience in litigation and patent prosecution involving a variety of technologies. While attending law school at Chicago Kent, Ryan received awards for top academic performance in Strategies in Intellectual Property, International Intellectual Property, Legal Writing, and Torts. In addition, Ryan excelled in IP related courses including Patents, Trademarks and Unfair Competition, Copyrights, European Copyrights, Patent Office Practice, Patent Litigation, and Advanced Patent Law: Patent Law Reform. Ryan graduated with honors from Chicago Kent in May 2009 and earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law. Ryan attended the Illinois Institute of Technology as a member of the Camras Scholars Progam and graduated in May 2006 with high honors. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and received the Outstanding Senior Award in recognition of his academic performance from the Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering department. While attending Illinois Tech, Ryan was a member of the varsity basketball team for four years, during which time he was named Rookie of the Year his freshman season and served as team captain his senior season. As an undergraduate, Ryan assisted in the experimental development of advanced particle accelerators with the IIT Center for Synchrotron Radiation Research. In addition, Ryan interned at Caterpillar Inc. where he designed parts for large wheel loaders as a member of the sheet metal and cooling group. Back to Top
