Professional Experience
Wayne joined the firm in 2005.  His field of expertise is wireless communications, and his experience includes patent prosecution, due diligence and litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Wayne developed commercial products for the cellular industry. He began his career in Motorola’s Corporate Research Division.  In 1995, Wayne joined fabless semiconductor company, PrairieComm.  PrairieComm's digital baseband processors have been used in phones sold by Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Siemens, and Motorola.  Wayne was an inventor at PrairieComm during its growth from just 3 engineers to over 200 engineers.  At PrairieComm, Wayne was in charge of Physical Layer Architecture, Modem Development and Intellectual Property, and he gained first hand experience designing hardware and programming software for IS-136, GSM, EDGE, CDMA, and UMTS.

Wayne holds twelve patents related to cellular technology and has been involved in the prosecution of more than 100 patent applications. Wayne has also trained engineers in digital communication theory and the patent process. Experience gained by working in all stages of product development gives Wayne an advantage in determining the most valuable aspects of new technology and identifying alternative solutions where necessary. Given his experience with patent prosecution and commercial applications, Wayne is able to maximize patent protection and patent value.
