Professional Experience
After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in mechanical engineering, Bill worked as a Technical Sales Representative for The Lincoln Electric Company, where he was involved in assisting customers increase manufacturing efficiency by improving welding and assembly procedures. While at Lincoln Electric, Bill received extensive training covering welding procedures and equipment, electric motors, and robotic welding.  Bill then worked for four years as an engineer at Productigear, Inc., where he designed and reengineered transmission components.

Bill started working as a full time law clerk in 1999 while attending law school at night.  As a full time clerk, Bill was able to gain experience in patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution, as well as many aspects of patent litigation.  

While in law school, Bill was a member of The John Marshall Law Review.  Bill’s law review comment examined the legality of the Secretary of the Interior's proposed rules that limited states’ role in the promulgation of tribal gaming procedures in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Seminole Tribe v. Florida decision.

Bill graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in June of 2002 and was elected to The Order of John Marshall, an honorary scholarship society.
