Professional Experience
Yi joined the firm in 2007. Yi’s work at MH&M includes technical support for patent prosecution matters encompassing electronics and communication technologies.
Yi received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois in 1997. Her dissertation work focused on signal processing in telecommunication.
After receiving the Ph.D., Yi joined Motorola for her research on radio access in telecommunication, including 3G and 4G technology generations, DVB-H technology, and UMA technology. During her engineering career, Yi worked in a variety of areas in telecommunication including technology feasibility analysis, inter-system mobility management, resource allocation, MAC protocol design for WiMAX, and advanced receiver designs and implementations in Motorola base station and mobile station for CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, DVB-H, and WiMAX. Yi was engaged in the implementation and development of multiple international wireless interface standards including 3GPP, IEEE 802.16e and 802.16m, and the 802.16e-2005 Profile 1.x variant. Yi was also providing technical support in intellectual property portfolio management on various technologies.
Yi Qiao is the inventor of multiple issued US patents, and has multiple US patents pending. The patents cover a wide range in telecommunication. She has authored a number of publications in the professional literature.
